TROUT FISHING
WAIKAREMOANA PROSPECTS GOOD SEASON EXPECTED [by telegraph —OWN CORRESPONDENT] GISBORNE, Thursday Reports from Lake Waikaremoana indicate, that this season should be one of the best on record for anglers. Conditions at present for fly fishermen are anything but good. The level of th© lake has subsided about-4ft., but it is still snot low enough to provide good fly fishing, as there is little room for casting. . . „,, v The only places where it is possible to do any. fly fishing just now is ab9ut the streams, but here the late-spawning fish are congregating, and they are not worth catching. Conditions for fly fishing will be good, it is believed, in about three weeks' time.
