BUTTER-BOX FREIGHTS

OBJECTION TO POOLING KING COUNTRY COMPANIES [by telegraph—own correspondent] TAUMART7NUI, Tuesday The pooling of butter-box costs, including freight, was upheld in a letter from tho Minister of Marketing, tho Hon. W. Nash, at a meeting of representatives of King Country dairy companies. Those present were: —Messrs. W. A. N. Campbell (Kaitieke), J. N. Bryant, D. W. Sutton (Mokau), C. F. Manning, C. E. Stewart (Ohura), E. H. ftughan (Aria), M. Geraghty (Raetihi), J. E. Trust. W. H, Topp and H. E. Bricklands (Piopio). , The following resolution was carried unanimously:— . . "That this representative meeting ot all King Country dairy companies enter an emphatic protest against tho iniquitous position created by tho butterbox pool, for whilo in the past these factories were able to make a saving on butter-boxes (against a large number of other companies), that saving has now been (under tho pool system) taken away from thorn. Further, if tho pooling system of butter-boxes must remain in force, we definitely contend that a system of pooling of freights on butter from fuetory to cool store be inaugurated." It was decided to forward a copy of tho resolution to the Dairy Board, Ministers of tho Crown and members of Parliament.
