WHALING INNOVATION
USE OF RADIO BEACON (Received October 31, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 30 An innovation in tho Antarctic whaling grounds, for which there has departed from Southampton, the German factory-ship Unitas, of 21,846 tons, the world's largest, as the mother ship to 10 vessels, will be the attachment to the carcase of each dead whale an automatic radio beacon emitting periodic signals indicating its whereabouts in bad weather.
