FERTILISER EMPLOYEES TERMS OF NEW AWARD - .. V [by telegbaph—own correspondent] • NEW PLYMOUTH; Monday Employees at the New Zealand Farmers' Fertiliser Company's works at New Plymouth held a lengthy stop- x work meeting this morning to discuss the new award and shift schedule, with which they recently expressed intense dissatisfaction. The men resumed work after the meeting, but a further meeting will be held very shortly, following which it is understood that a statement on the. union's proposed action will be released. The new award came into force last. Monday and it was officially stated by the secretary of the union, Mr. R. H. Henderson, that the men were intensely dissatisfied, particularly with the 'absence of retrospective pay and the twoyear term for which it was made applicable. Objection was made to the fact that there was rto provision for annual holidays for continuous shift workers, and tlie rates of pay were considered to be out of proportion to the wages paid to general labourers.
