DEMAND IN MEMEL PLANS OF GERMANY FATE OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA SETTLEMENT WITH ITALY By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received October 28, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 27 A message from Kaunas, Lithuania, says the German leaders have demanded full autonomy for Memel at a specially-called meeting of the Diet. The tension was renewed and thousands of people demonstrated in all parts of the city. They greeted Herr Saucker with Bhouts of: "One Reich, one People, one leader! Out with the Jews!" The Rome correspondent of the Times says there is no doubt Herr von Ribbentrop, German Foreign Minister, aims at deciding with Italy the fate of eastern Czechoslovakia. Other subjects for discussion may be advanced to detract from the primary topic, on which Italo-German agreement is not complete. The Hungarian reply to the Czech Note of October 26 has been delivered in Prague. It regrets that the Czech Government has not agreed to the holding of plebiscites in the debated areas, and demands that the territory in which there is a Hungarian majority should be removed from arbitration. The Note insists on the immediate evacuation of areas the transfer of which has already been agreed upon.
