DUKE OF KENT
TERM IN AUSTRALIA JOY OF GREEK COMMUNITY CANBERRA WILL BE POPULAR • (Received October 28. 5.5 p.m.) CANBERRA, Oct. 28 The Duke of Kent is expected to travel extensively in Australia during his term of two years as Governor-Gen-eral, and a special aeroplane will probably be placed at his disposal.
Canberra will bo the Duke's official headquarters. It is expected that many members of the Consular Corps will transfer their headquarters and many people prominent in the social life of the community will establish residence at Canberra prior to the Duke's arrival, which will also compel extensive improvement for the Vice-Regal accommodation in the Capitol Territory. The Greek community, 20,000 of whom live in Australia, are intensely gratified at the news of the Duke of Kent's visit as Governor-General. Dr. J. Kocotakis, Consul-General for Greece, speaking on behalf of his countrymen resident in Sydney, said: "Princess Marina was always considered in Greece as our most charming Princess, and her coming to Australia has filled the hearts of my people with joy." The Duke of Kent gave an audience to the High Commissioner for Australia, Mr. S. M. Bruce, says a cablegram from London.
