"PYJAMA GIBL" CASE ANOTHER REWARD OFFERED INFORMATION OF IDENTITY In addition to the reward of £IOOO offered by the New South Wales Government for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who murdered an unknown woman on the Albury-Howlong road, Albury, on September 1, 1931, a further reward of £SOO will bo paid to any person who can supply information establishing the identity of the dead woman. Advice to this effect lias been received by the Auckland police. The "pyjama girl" murder case, as it has become known, has engaged the attention of p«lice in all parts of the world, inquiries having been made unceasingly since the tragedy was discovered. The investigation has already cost about £IO.OOO. The body of the young woman was discovered in a culvert. r lhe head was severely battered, and the lower part of the body burned. A detailed description of the body, and also of the pyjamas in Which it was clad, was circulated throughout Australia and New Zealand. It is believed that the woman was between 22 and 27 years of age, and that she was of slim to medium build. A reward q| £SOO for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for the murder was offered by the New South Wales police in April, 193 G. This sum was later increased to £IOOO. After having been adjourned several times, the inquest was concluded at Albury on January 18 of this year, the coroner's verdict being that death was due to injuries to the woman's skull feloniously inflicted by some person or persons unknown.
