Young Auckland Singer's Recital
The young Auckland soprano Miss Winifred Clements, who is to leave for Australia by the Wanganella on November 11, will give a recital in the Lewis Eady Hall on November 3. Miss Clements will bo remembered for her portrayal of the part of Huguette in the recent production of "The Vagabond King" by the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society and in the comparatively short time that she has been singing she has shown herself the possessor of considerable talents. She has been an active member of the Operatic Society for about three years and in "The Vagabond King" she gained her first leading part. Miss Clements will Btudy singing and dramatic art at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Assisting artists at her recital will be Mr. Ernest Snell, baritone, Mr. Alan Pow, pianist, and Miss Jacqueline Page, elocutionist.
