"Elephant in Arcady"
NEW LONDON PRODUCTION [from our own correspondent] LONDON, Oct. 15 Mr. Stanley Wainwright, formerly of Christchureh, has been conducting rehearsals with the company producing "An Elephant in Arcady," a musical comedy by Herbert Farjeon and his sister, Miss Eleanor Farjeon, talented writers with a New Zealand background. Their father, B. L. Farjeon, who was the well-known writer of many thrillers, used to live in Dunedin. The first night of "An Elephant in Arcady" was at the Kingsway Theatre on September 29, and the play looks like repeating the success of "Tlio Two Bouquets," also written by the Farjeons. It ran for many months in London. Recently ho spent a holiday cycling to, Torquay to rejoin his wife, formerly Manetta Marriott, who has been engaged with a concert party there during the summer. Mr. Hubert Carta, recently of Christchurch, is also at Torquay with the samo party.
