For some time, such ranges were imported from countries where they were already in use, but falling into line with the changed conditions, New Zealand manufacturers designed and created a range comparable with the world's best. Skill in design, expert craftsmanship and the resources of vast establishments were utilised to produce electric ranges which would hold their ownswith any built overseas. Their success is undoubted, and their demand is Dominion-wide. Every part of the electric equipment is right up to date and entirely reliable in all respects. The boiling rings, the porcelain enamelled oven, thermometer and other features are of the highest type, and the range generally is built to conform to the most exacting scientific and practical tests. There is ample diversity in these electric ranges 10 meet the needs of every home. For the weekend crib, holiday cottage, or small flat, there is a type that can be operated by n flexible connection plugged into the ordinary ironing point. There arc .11 1. W some six or seven single models, a number of double models, a combination of electric range and destructor, and, in fact, the prospective buyer can have a choice of no less than fifteen different sizes and styles of range. In addition to the foregoing, electric ovens are made for pastry cooks and restaurants, electric hotplates, indispensable in cake kitchens, etc., air heaters for workrooms or halls, electric portable grills and hot plates, at prices that are entirely reasonable and moderate. It may bfe mentioned that not only are the ordinary types of electric ranges equal to those imported into the Dominion from overseas, but in quite a number of features they are distinctly superior, embodying improvements which are most helpful and advantageous in cooking and baking. The principal recommendation of an electric range is the fact that the heat is instantly available, as it can be turned off or on in a moment, and that it enables cooking and baking to be carried on with exactness and the certainty of good results. -Article contributed by H.
