SURF AND LIFE-SAVING
WAIHI CLUB'S SEASON [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WAIHI, Friday Tho report presented at the annual meeting of the Waihi Surf and Life-Saving Club stated that the past season had been very successful and that tho club was in a sound financial position. During the year 23 awards were gained by members. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, the Mayor, Mr. -W. M. Wallnutt; president, Mr. R. Reddings; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. H. G. Banks, F. J. Marsden; hon. secretary. Mr. P. D. Horn; hon. treasurer, Mr. D. M. Hunter; men's captain, Mr. 3D. D. McLeay; vice-captain, Mr. N. R. Wynn; chief instructor, Mr. E. D. McLeay; gear steward, Mr. C. Hovell; ladies' captain, Mrs. D. Hunter; vice-captain, Miss N. Dunstan; hon. auditor. Mr. H. L. Boughton: executive committee, Messrs. J. R. Ashby, W. Walters. Misses J. Stobie, B. Pipe. Debenture holders and all others who did practical work in connection with the building of the clubroom and pavilion were elected honorary life members.
