RED CROSS SOCIETY

CLASSES FOR TRAINING In- an endeavour to place the work of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Red Cross Society on an equal footing with that of branches in other centres, training classes have been opefoed in the city and suburbs. A great deal of interest has been distilayed in the classes and inquiries have )een received from a number of nurses who served during the Great War, as well as from many young people. Classes have already commenced in Auckland Central, Mount Eden, Mount Roskill and Takapuna. The training is taking the form of lectures by qualified medical authorities, the subjects being first-aid, homenursing and sanitation and hvgiene. Each subject has been divided into three stages, for oach of which certificates will De issued. At the completion of the course, a special proficiencv certificate will be awarded.
