WOMAN KNOCKED DOWN PASSERSBY LIFT' VEHICLE [by telegraph—OWN* correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday Passersby had to lift a motor-car off Miss Jean Johnson, aged 60, of New Plymouth, to-night, after she had been knocked down in the street. Miss Johni«in was admitted to hospital suffering from concussion, shock and severe bruising and abrasions, but the exact extent of her injuries had not been diagnosed to-night. Her condition was not then regarded as serious. Miss Johnson was crossing the street when she was struck by the car, which was driven bv Mr. Kitchener Percy Newsome, of Inaha. The car passed over her legs just below the knees, and was pulled up with the crank case over her head.
