INTERNATIONAL APPEAL PLANS FOR THE FUTURE wero discussed yesterday by Mr. M. Lustig, advertising manager in Australia and New Zealand for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (Australasia), Limited, a round-trip passenger by the liner Orcades. Mr. Lustig said that all studios wero going in for proved material in novels or stage plays, suitably consolidated. A more international appeal was now being achieved, he continued. Films were being designed to appeal not only to the United States and Britain, but also to audiences in Germany, Sweden and elsewhere. Moreover, it was increasingly common to have, say, an American leading player in a film which might be made in England. A number of operettas, old-time comic operas and best-selling novels were to be adapted for the screen in the coming season, he added.
