NOTABLE MINISTER
CHURCH OF SCOTLAND DELEGATE TO ASSEMBLY GREETINGS TO NEW ZEALAND A distinguished minister of the Church of Scotland and a noted Gaelic orator and preacher, tho Very Itev. Dr. Dugald Macfarlane, arrived at Auckland in the Monterey yesterday on a short visit to the Dominion. Dr. Macfarlane, who has a commission from the Church of Scotland as official delegate to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, left Auckland last night for Wellington, en route to Dunedin, where tho assembly will commence next week.• Parish minister at Kingussie, Inver-ness-shire, since 1906, Dr. Macfarlane was Moderator last year of tho General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. He has previously acted as delegate from tho Scottish Church to tho assemblies of tho Presbyterian Church in Canada, Wales and Ireland. In addition to delivering his official address to tho assembly in Dunedin, when he will convey the greetings of the Church of Scotland to tho Dominion
VERY REV. DR. ,D. MACFARLANE Presbyterian Church, Dr. Masfarlano will preach and deliver addresses in various parts of New Zealand. It is his intention to spend threo weeks in .the South Island and six weeks in the North Island before he returns to England, via Australia. A feature of his visit is his intention to preach in Gaelic at centres in New Zealand where church members are of Highland descent.
