CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS [erom our own correspondent] "WHANGAREI, Friday A decision to re-enact tho landing of the first settlers at Waipu has been reached by a committee of the Whangarei County Council considering centennial celebrations in the county. " There are not many instances in this or any other country of such an undertaking," said tho chairman, Mr. J. A. S. MacKay. "Tho 800 migrants built their own ships and sailed them to this country to found a new settlement."
