COOL TEMPERATURES CONDITIONS MAINLY FINE The weather report and /forecast for New Zealand issued by the Government meteorologist last evening were as follows:—Yesterday's depression has passed eastward and an anti-cyclone is advancing across the north Tasman Sea. A slight secondary depression is, however, located over the central portion of the Dominion. The forecast is for light to fresh west to south winds prevailing but turning north-westerly again in the far south. Seas slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong west to south-west winds and rather rough seas. The leather is likely to bo mainly fair to fine in the northern half of the North Island and south of Canterbury, otherwise cloudy to* overcast and in places misty at first, with showers or drizzling rain in many places. Conditions gradually improving, however. Temperatures cool. ♦

SPECIAL AUCKLAND TORECAST MAINLY FAIR TO FINE The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province.—Moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly winds. The weather is likely to be for the most part fair to fine, but a few light showers still probable. Temperatures cool to moderate. Seas moderate to rather rough on the west coast, slight to moderate on the east coast. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland.—Dull and showery weather with a moderate south-west wind was experienced yesterday. The maximum temperature was 66 degrees, and tha minimum 59 degrees. Barometric pressure rose slightly. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 39481 a. Midnight, Thursday .. .. 29.78ia. Wellington.—The day was overcast with much low cloud, mist and intermittent drizzly rain. A light northerly breeze turned toward the south during the morning. Temperatures were cool, the maximum being 54.2 degrees. At ' 3.30 p.m. the barometer read 29.746 in. Christchurch.—The morning was overcast and cold with a south-west wind. Light rain began to fall just before mid-day, continuing until about 3 p.m. Thereafter the weather cleared, but was still cold. The maximum temperature was 52.5 degrees. The barometer at 5 p.m. read 29.90 in. Dunedin.—ln the morning the sky was overcast and there wa6 a cold breeze from the south-west. The son came out later and the temperature reached a maximum of 62 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.80 in., but showed a tendency to rise in the evening.
