MEDICAL STAFF
THE AUCKLAND HOSPITAL
The appointment of two third-year resident medical officers was recommended by the medical superintendent, Dr. J. W. Craren, to the Auckland Hospital Board last night. He said that in all recognised hospitals of the size of the Auckland institution in the British Empire . such appointment! were made.
"The hospital is increasing so rapidly that such appointments are ® vital necessity and they may require advertisement to attract the best men available in New Zealand," stated Dr. Craven. "In the six months ended September 30, admissions totalled 6720, compared with 6216 for the corresponding period in 1937, and the average daily admissions for the past three months have been 36.9." The recommendations were referred to the Finance Committee.
