KING OF RUMANIA
COMING VISIT TO LONDON PLAN FOR WELCOME ADDRESS British Wireless RUGBY, Oct. 20 At a meeting of the Court of Common Council of the City of London, held in the Guildhall, a resolution was unanimously passed, inviting King Carol, of Rumania, who will visit London between November 15 and November 18, accompanied by the Crown Prince, to receive an address of welcome in a gold box and afterward to be entertained at a luncheon at the Guildhall. POLITICAL IMPORTANCE THE EUROPEAN SITUATION BRITISH INFLUENCE FADING LONDON, Oct. 20 The visit of King Carol is regarded as of considerable political importance in the light of the course of affairs in Central Europe, says the Australian Associated Press. The Czech and Hungarian missions to Berlin show that the extent of British influence has faded there. This is admitted in official circles which do not, display concern. The indications are that Britain is becoming increasingly resigned to German political dominance in Europe and is content to retain economic influence, which even will increase as Germany expands. Britain holds the advantage of ability to buy for cash, which is more acceptable than barter.
