DANGER TO STOCK

ROADWAIY ON BRIDGE POSITION AT HAMILTON COUNCIL TO TAKE ACTION [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday A decisioi' to take steps to improve the condition of the roadway surface of Fairfield Bridge, Hamilton, was made at a meeting of the Waikato County Council to-dav. A letter was received from tho Waikato Stock Auctioneers' Association stating that the present slippery concrete surface of the bridge was a danger to drovers and stock.

The county engineer, Mr. A. A. Woodward, said he did not think it advisable to bituminise the roadway, as this would prove detrimental to visibility at night. Mr. Woodward added that sealing might be the best course.

It was decided to advise the auctioneers' association that the matter was receiving consideration by the council and action would be taken in due course.
