The consignment was one of lJj bales, c<vnprisiyg" tho first' portion of tho dry. shearing on Waimoana Station, "Wainui, It consisted of llomriey hogget-.and wether.■wool;.. Sinall' quantities of rains' wool had been'received u. month or so ago, but' thifc is. not counted when reference is. made to the commencement of shearing in the district, for it is customary for a number of flock owners to shear rams some time before other sections of their flocks, , * The consignment of wool from Waimoaiia was in store for-only a short perjod< and it was/sent immediately to" the wharf for loading on the motor-vessel .Margaret W., which later left for Auckland. At Auckland the wool will be transhipped to the Tamaroa, which is duo to arrive'in London oil November 10. Thus the first of tlit; new sefison's-; Gisborne wool will be in London before many station owners in the district have commenced shearing. Odd crates of strawberries were" again oii sale,"one choice line realising 4s a chip. Heavy supplies of Jemoiis gold at low prices under a poor demand. Choice quality apples sold fairly well, a* did oranges and hothouse tomatoes. High prices were obtained for a short supply of cabbage and cauliflower, fair quantities of new potatoes front Pukekoho selling at moderate prices.
