CENTENNIAL SHOW

FIXTURE IN AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION'S DECISION Preparations to hold a Centennial Show iu 1940 are to bo mado by the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral , Association. Members made this decision at the 85th annual meeting yesterday. There was a large attendance. The president, Mr. James Wylie, said he could see no reason why a Centennial Show worthy of the province should not be held on the association's grounds. The suggestion was t.o hold it in conjunction with the ordinary show in 1940, and to extend it from two to three days. If members agreed with the proposal, a determined effort should bo made to ensure success. Members thought the suggestion was an excellent one, and considered that an early start should bo made with the preparations. The grounds, it was pointed out, were provided with every facility. It, was decided to have the show included in the centennial schedule.
