i THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE INVESTORS REGAIN CONFIDENCE Renewed interest in investment issues resulted in active dealing on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. tlie sales list being the largest for several months. Operators reentered the market with confidence and bidding came freely. The downward trend in gilt-edged securities continued. Banks again strengthened, and New Zealands gained further ground. South British Insurance recovered sharply. New Zealands •were dealt in actively at a slight decline on last week. Classified Dominion industrials attracted more attention at fairly steady levels. - A sharp upward movement in both issues of Electrolytic Zinc marked operations in the miscellaneous group. Broken Hills moved up, but later returned to the previous day's level. Colonial Sugars changed hands 20s lower, but, like several other issues, levels were considerably higher than earlier in the week. Australian Glass showed a fall, but more were wanted at dearer rates at the close. Woolworths (Sydney) continued to recover. The New Zealand scrip lost ground, but later recovered.
