WORK FOR BEGGARS
An industrial institute for beggars is to be established in Madras. A sum of 10,000 rupees (about £770) has been allocated for this purpose by the Health Standing Committee of the Madras Corporation. The institute will be attached to the beggars' home already in existence. Mat-weaving and basket-weaving will be introduced as a start.
