PRAYERS FOR PEACE
INTERCESSORY SERVICES The citizens' united intercessory ser vices for peace and goodfellowship in the world and divine guidance for statesmen, held in the Town Hall concert chamber yesterday, received with thanksgiving tho news of an agreement in Europe. Three different sessions were conducted between 12.30 and 2 p.m., the leaders being the Re\ A. C. Nelson, Mr. Robert Laidlaw and Dr. Alexander Hodge. Tho concert chamber was practically tilled at each session, at which there wore hymns and prayers of praise and thanksgiving. Two minutes of silent prayer was also held. "As we thank .the Lord for sending our King victorious," said Dr. Hodge, concluding his service, "lot us give thanks that He has sent him victorious by way of his leading statesmen and along tn<> path of peace." • • * ■ , =. The services, which were arranged by the Auckland Ministers' Association, closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
