When he had arrived home under tho influenoa of drink he had quarrelled with his family and also his mother-in-law, whom ho liad assaulted. At the time tna defendant's mother-in-law had a baby in her arms and in the struggle the child had fallen and had been bruised. "At first I was inclined to suggest a term of imprisonment, but now that tho affair has blown over a little I would suggest that Galvin be placed on pro-, bation, provided he agrees to take outa prohibition order for life," commented the senior-sergeant. Galvin having intimated his willing* ness to take out a prohibition order for life, the Bench placed him on proban tion for one year and ordered him to, pay £1 Is medical expenses.
