LOG OF REMEMBRANCE
ASSISTANCE TO MISSION BOOK ON SOUTHERN CROSS The names of those to be remembered in the daily services in the ship's chapel Trill be inscribed in the Lag Book of Perpetual Remembrance, to be carried" by the Melanesian Mission vessel Southern Cross when she sails for the islands of the south-western Pacific at the end of the week. The gift.of an anonj-mous donor, the log book is of handsome paper, bound in white vellum and ' lettered in gold<#Jfc 13 the work of an Auckland binder. Entries of the names of individuals or croups of people who are desirous of sharing the cost of maintenance of the ship for one day in the year will be contained in the book, the annual donation amounting to £lO. Two Auckland entries have already been made and the addition of at least one is expected before the ship sails. The aim is to secure 365 groups of people in England, Australia and New Zealand, each of whose contributions would support the ship for one day in the year. The relief thus granted to the funds of the mission would be the best form of practical assistance,
