LEAVING CERTIFICATES
TECHNICAL NIGHT CLASSES A suggestion that pupils in evening classes leaving the school should he given a certificate indicating the length of time they had attended and other details was made by Mr. 10. Aldridge at the meeting of the Seddon Memorial Technical College board of managers yesterday. Day class. pupils already are iriven these certificates. Tho value that such certificates would have for both the pupils seeking employment and the employers was emphasised by Mr. Aldridge, who proposed that they" should show tho time spent at the college, subjects taken, nnd the pupil's qualifications. The matter was referred to tho act-ing-princioal, Mr. W. 10. Hurley. Tho submission of the syllabus used by instructors in technical classes to the associations of employers was a further suggestion by Mr. Aldi'idge, who remarked that it would be a check on the practical value of the work in ■which training Was givfeft.
