POLICE FUNERAL
CONSTABLE MALLABOND TRIBUTE PAID BY COMRADES Nearly 100 members pf the Police Force pnid tribute to the late Constable F. W. Mnllabond, of Devonport. yesterday afternoon, when tho interment took place at the Purewn. Cemetery. Constable iVI alia bond's death occurred at the Auckland Hospital early on Wednesday morning, following a short illness. Police representatives nt the funeral included INIr. I). C. Eraser, superintendent at Auckland, Inspector R. Ward. Inspector I). Scott, Sub-Inspec-tor M. Flanagan. Senior-Sergeants D. L. Cnlwoll and C. Dun ford, over 70 sergeants nnd constables, and 12 members of the detective force. After a service conducted by tho Rev. A. M. Elliffo, at Devon port, tho cortege crossed the harbour by vehicular ferry and was met at the landing on the city side by the police representatives. Marching in formation on either side, they nccompatiiod the hearse along the waterfront road to the I'arnell Hatha. They were conveyed the remainder of the distance to tho cemetery by buses: The service at the graveside, where the police party again drew up in formation, was conducted by Mr. Elliffe.
