{OBJECTION NOT WITHDRAWN MANUKAU COUNCIL'S -POSITION L ■ Strong exception to a reported etateiinent oi the consulting engineer to the jManurewa Borough Council, Mr. R. P. HVorley, to the effect that the Manukau jCounty Council had withdrawn its previous objections to the proposed stock route on the western side of the Great jSoUth Road was taken at the meeting ;of the county council yesterday. ;• The statement objected to was contained in a report on a conference of ilocal body engineers to discuss new stock routes, suggested as a means of relieving tho Great South Itoad; which ("were submitted at a meeting of the iManurewa Borough Council early this jjmonth: {> The officials of the Manukau council who had attended the conference stated, ithat no indication had been given that |the council viewed the suggested route iwith favour, as it would traverso areas jwhich were suitable for residential purnoses. '
