Achilles left Auckland on Saturday morning for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wellington. Twelve ratings of the Auckland Division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve joined the vessel for a short course of training at sea. She will return to Auckland in about three weeks' timo and will sail for England early in December. The two Imperial escort vessels, the Loith and the Wellington, and the mine-sweeper Wakakura, sailed on Saturday afternoon for a week's combined minesweeping exercises in the Hauraki Gulf.
