OVERSEAS METHODS INVESTIGATION PROPOSED TOUR BY DIRECTOR-GENERAL [by TFXKGKAI'tl —I'KF.SS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Sunday Public Hon 11li administration in the United States, Great Britain and Europe is to be investigated by the Director-General of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, who will leave Auckland lor San Francisco by the Monterey to-morrow. Jn making this announcement on Saturday, the Minister of Health, the Hon. 1\ I l 'raser. said that the Director of the Hospitals Division, Dr. R. A. Shore, would act as Director-General of Health during the absence from Now Zealand of Dr. Watt.
J)r. Watt's tour will bo made under tho auspices of the Kockefeller Foundation of New York. In addition to studying public health administration he will also visit research institutions and investigate the latest advances in medical and hospital practice. In 1925 as doputy-Dircctor-General of Health, Dr. Watt attended a con. ference of medical ofheers from all parts of the world which was held in Japan under the auspices of the League of Nations. Later he visited Korea and the United States, where ho spent about three months.
Dr. Watt left Wellington for Auckland by the Main Trunk express on Saturday afternoon. Tie expects to ho away from Now Zealand about eight months.
