The Veilmond gelding Rodborough equalled the course record in the Camellia Stakes and also greatly enhanced his Epsom Handicap prospects. Netherlea and Raeburn were unplaced in the Yarramin Handicap, Queen of Song, Silver Bond and Edible in the first division of the Dandenong Welter Handicap, and Whernside and Pharaoh in the second division. Elanage and Top Row were unplaced in the Leslie Stuart Stakes* won by Judean from Lilirene. Only One finished-third in the Boisdale Handicap. Both riders concerned, L. J. Ellis, who rode Toro Koura, and J. Wadley, on Rebel Leader, escaped injury. At an inquiry into the fall the evidence of these two jockeys and of A. G.
