CLUBS OI'EN SEASON CEREMONIES ON SATURDAY FUNCTION AT PUKEKOHE EAST [from OUH OWN COnBKSPOXDKNT] PUKEKOHE, Sunday There was a large attendance at the opening of the Pnkekohe Ivist J/iwn Tennis Club, which was held yesterday afternoon. Visitors were present from the J'ukekohe. Bombay and Auckland Clubs. A short address was given by the president, -Mr. A. K. Mahone.v, who declared the season officially open, and the first ball was hit bv .Miss 1* lorence Mahoney.

KORAKONUI CLUB [ FROM OUR OWN COIt respondK.NT] TE AWAMUTU, Sunday The president, Mr L. G. McDonald, presided over a fair attendance at the. annual meeting of the Korakonui Tennis Club, tho finances of the club were stated to be in a very satisfactory position, and the annual report predicted a good year. Opening day was fixed for October 1. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. J,. G. McDonald: vicepresidents, Mrs. Orr. Messrs. F. H. lerrv, C. McDonald, T. J. Lawry; club oaptain, Mr. M Terry; secretary, Mr. A. McDonald; committee, Misses I. McDonald, D. Warner, Mr. E. Lawry. OFFICERS AT TAURANGA [BV TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TAURAXGA, Sunday There was good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Tauranga Lawn Tennis Club, Mr. D- A. Ivory presiding. The report showed that the past season had been very successful in every respect. '1 he membership was well maintained and totalled 120. Tho new pavilion, costing jC.'Ml', had proved a boon. The balancesheet revealed a very satisfactory position. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr D. A. Ivory; vice-president, Mr. I\. D. Page; club captain, .Mr. G J. PIRONGIA CLUB [I'BOM our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Sunday The annual meeting of the Pirongia Tennis Club was presided over by Mr. ,E. Miller. It was arrangjd to hold the official opening of the courts on Saturday, September !21. It was decided to enter two teams in the Waipa West Sub-association's championship. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr W IT. Bell; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. E 'Hood, J. L. Macky. <A. R. McNaugliton. G. West, H. Hullten, T. H. Hartstone; secretary, Miss S. Bell; delegates to Waipa West Association. Messrs. E. Miller, W. Hartstone, W. Payne. TE MAWHAI CLUB [ ry tei.kghaph—own couhespondent] TE AWAMUTU, Sut.dny There was a large attendance at the nnnual meeting of the Te Mawhai Tennis Club. Mr. M C. Daniell presided. The report stated that the i ast season had proved very successful, and the financial position was good, there being a satisfactory credit balance. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr V. Gates; vice-presi-dents Messrs. W. J. Melville, S. Earwsker; secretary, Miss H. Schmidt; treasurer, Mr. C. Gates; club captain, Mr. F. Price; committee, Mesdames E. Perrott, G. Ramsa.v, F. Price. Messrs. A. R. Kirton, V. S. Oates, M. Daniell, A. Bushbrooke; auditor, Mr. A. R. Kirton; selector, Mr. F. Price. It was decided to open the season on October 8.
