ESK VALLEY VISITED

HON. D. Q. SULLIVAN'S TOUR [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] HASTINGS, Sunday The Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, arrived at Napier yesterday, travelling by a new railcar which was on a trial run from Wellington. Mr. Sullivan attended the crowning ceremony at the Hawke's Bay Labour queen carnival at Napier last evening. Ho visited the Esk Valley areas devastated by the autumn floods to-day. Mr. Sullivan said ho was very distressed at the terrible scenes of ruin in the rich and beautiful countryside. The Minister returned to Wellington later in the day.
