MAN'S FATAL ORDEAL

WEEK LYING UNDER TREES FOUND IN SERIOUS STATE DEATH LATER IN HOSPITAL [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Suffering from exposure and starvation, Mr. Howard Ganderton, aged 55, farm manager, of Hikuai, near Waihi, was taken to the Waikato Hospital in a St. John ambulance this morning in a critical condition, and died this evening. Mr. Ganderton was found at nine o'clock this morning by a Hamilton Borough Council employee, lying under somo pine trees near the rifle range in Hamilton East, a somewhat deserted spot. He was immediately taken to hospital. Mr. Ganderton was a married man and was the manager of Mr. W. Phillips' estato at Hikuai. He came to Hamilton for a holiday and explained that he had been lying where he was found for about a week. It is believed that he was suffering from loss of memory.
