COMPANY DINNER
FOODSTUFFS, LIMITED The directors of Foodstuffs (Auckland), Limited, entertained about 350 guests, comprising shareholders, their employees, members of tho company's staff and wives and friends, at a dinner held in the tearooms of George Court and Sons, Limited, on Saturday night. The guests were received by the chairman of the company, Mr. L. V. McInness, and Mrs. McJnness. Guests were present from Russell, Thames, Tauranga, Whangarei, Rotorua and Te Hana, as well as from Auckland. Reference to tho early days of tho company was made by Mr. T. E. Price when proposing the health of the founders. From a .very small beginning in 1925, he said, the company had grown until it now owned its modern warehouse and offices, while twice tho amount of invested capital had been returned to shareholders in 13i years. Mr. J. Heaton Barker referred to the distances travelled by guests coming from the outlying areas and spoke of the gathering as the "Foodstuffs family."
During the evening musical and vocal items were given.
