ENGINEERS' BALL
FIRST FIELD COMPANY AN ENJOYABLE EVENING OFFICERS AND MEN AS HOSTS An enjoyable evening was spent at the Artillery Hall, Rutland Street, on Saturday night, when the officers and men of the First Field Company, New Zealand Engineers. held their fourth annual ball. The hall was completely transformed for the occasion. Rows of streamers in the national colours lined the ceiling, while the walls wen l concealed by bunting. Easy chairs and chesterfields, and large stands of bamboo foliage, lent an air of comfort to the ball.
The guests were received by the I officer commanding. Major L. F. Rudd, and Mrs. Rudd, the latter wearing a frock of cyclamen-coloured georgette with a silver lame bolero. The committee in charge of arrangements comprised:—Mr. L. A. Lincoln. Mr. Saunders. Sergeant-Major N. Sarney, Q..M.S. F. I'enn. Sergeant R. Hicks and Corporal A. Stewart.
