TAMAKI CLUB'S SEASON DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES The Tamaki Yacht Club held its annual distribution of prizes and dance in the clubhouse. Bastion Point, on Saturday night. There was a large attendance of members and visitors, including the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, Mr. W. P. Endean, M.P., Mr. \V. B. Darlow. chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. C. H. T. Palmer, chairman of the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association, Captain H. H. Sergeant, harbourmaster, Captain D. Burgess, .Mr. T. Connor, commodore of the Tauranga Yacht Club, and also representatives from the various yacht clubs on the Waitemata and Manukau.

In extending a welcome to the visitors, the commodore, Mr. VV. A. Wilkinson, stated that the past season had been ono of the most successful in the history of the club. Splendid weather conditions had prevailed for the club's events and good entries had been received. A feature of tlfe season's racing was the visit of four IS-footers to Sydney. The Tamaki club was represented by the Riptide, which was successful in winning the trophy presented by the residents of Watson's Bay. The prize had been handed to the Tamaki club and would bo competed for during the coming season. In February four of Sydney's best 18-footers would pay a return visit to Auckland and all yachtsmen were looking forward to seeing these boats on the Waitemata. In presenting the prizes (he Mayor, who is patron of the club, congratulated tho commodoro and his officers and committee on the progress it had made since its inception 12 years ago. "Now that Mission and other bays "on the waterfront have becomo so popular with the public," Sir Ernest said, "the Auckland Harbour Board should consider erecting a pier on the waterfront road. Not only could the yacht races be witnessed from the pier, but the public would also have a splendid view of tho harbour." Mr. Darlow, chairman of tho Harbour Board, said the board was endeavouring to make arrangements for a boat harbour to be provided in the eastern portion of the harbour.

The mofvt important prizes were won by the following:—Mr. L. J. Keys' Cup. Rainoiia; Mr. E. Harrop's Cup, Sirona; Mr. H. S. Rennick's Cup, Ayesha; Southland Cup, Benny; Sir Reginald Mosehy's Cup, Silver Fern; Mr. A. 0. Taylor's Cup. Endeavour; Mr. W. Cloodfellow's trophy, Waialae; Mr. W. P. Endean's tronhy, Syhilla; Commodore's Cup, Waialae; Sir Ernest Davis' Cup, Mnranita; Mr. C. G. Maclndoe's Cup. Shamrock; Mrs. H. Schmidt's trophy for M and V teams' race, Irina and Riptide v. Manene and Manu. dead-heat; Mr. W. A. Wilkinson's Cup for T and Y. teams' race, won by class T, with H2 points; Mr. S. Ford's trophy (a yacht's (linchy), for hisrhest asrcres:ate points. Memutu. Other first prize-winners were:—Class L: Manishln, Valkvria, Waialae. Tnmariki. Class V: Meteor. Shamrock, Torrens. Meinntu. Class M: Ma ran it a (2). Class S: Sonoma. Sirona, Mahann, Annette (2). Class T: Vamp, Slialimar, Sybilla, Ramona, Lena. Class Y: Idle Alonsr, Ayesha. Tda. Class Z: Lyla, Benny, Trevic, Paddy. Silver Fern class: Endeavour, Silver Fern.
