SCULLING RACE
WIN FOR H. R. PEARCE TORONTO, Sept. 2 The champion sculler, H. R. Pearce, of Canada, formerly of Australia, won by five full lengths the mile sculling race against three. Australian challengers. His time was (, "paddon was second in Gm 14.25. Cook was third. . . „ , . u . .u Two heats were originally planned, but the officials decided to make the contest a fourman race. Pearce and Paddon will meet next week over a three-mile course for the title.
