END OF ROMANCE
COUNT AND HEIRESS * A MEETING AT VENICE NO HOPE OF RECONCILIATION VENICE, August 22 Count and Countess Revcntlow, recently separated by Danish law, met in the lobby of the Excelsior Lido Hotel a few days ago. The Countess, formerly Miss Barbara Hutton, Woolworth millionairess, chatted for an hour with tho Count in the luxurious hotel bar. They met for the first time since the Bow Street, London, proceedings, when the Countess charged her husband with haying "used threats to put her in bodily fear." In Danish Courts the Count renounced claims on his wife's fortune, but gained control over his son's education. Both were deeply moved as the Count kissed the Countess' hand before they parted. The Count had arrived by aeroplane from the French Riviera. Tor two hours before his arrival, the Countess had paced the beach in obvious agitation.
The visit provided _ the international fcolony with a. new thrill. The Count subsequently told friends lie had abandoned hopes of a reconciliation with his wife. "Barbara is determined to go on with divorce proceedings," he told an interviewer. "It is the end—except for friendship. |We shall always be friends. Barbara is looking as lovely as ever."
The Count denied that his two-year-old son, Lance, is being guarded by private detectives. The child plays every day on the Bands, under the supervision of nurses, at. Filey, Yorkshire.
Under the separation agreement refcently filed in Danish Courts, the Count has been given control over his Eon's education, religion and professional career.
The Countess is granted the care of the child for the -greater part of each ydar during his youth. The Countess and Countess Ciano, Signor Mussolini's daughter, are now almost constant companions.
