Mr. C. Walker, for some years instructor in agriculture in the Bay of Plenty, has been transferred on promotion to Hamilton and has left to take up his new duties.
Professor It. M. Algie, organiser of the Auckland Provincial Freedom Association, who travelled to Qiristchurch by air on Sunday to address meetings at the invitation of a National Party group, returned to Auckland by air yesterday.
Mr. J. Caughley, president of the Auckland branch, and Mr. J. E. Green vice-president, left last night by the limited express for Wellington to attend the annual conference of the land Society of Superannuated Puhjjc Servants. *
Mr. H. It. Denize, inspector of stock for tho Department of Agriculture, at Palmcrston North, has been appointed principal inspector in Otago and Southland. Ho will be succeeded at Palmer-, ston North by Mr. 11. A. Bailey, inspector at Whangarei.
Mr. C. E. Critchley, Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, arrived from Wellington yesterday to meet Sir Earle Page, deputy-Prime Minister of Australia and Minister of Commerce, who will reach Auckland by the Monterey on Friday on his return from Britain and will make a short stay in the Dominion. Mr. Critchley is at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. J. S. Barton, chairman of the Bondholders' Incorporation Commission, who presided yesterday at a sitting of the commission which ~ dealt with questions affecting New Zealand Perpetual Forests, Limited, and New Zealand Forests Products, Limited, left last night by the limited • express for Wellington. He will return to Auckland in about a fortnight, when the commission will deal with several questions yet to bs settled between the two companies.
