AUCKLAND ROTARY CLUB
WEEKLY LUNCHEON MEETING There was a large attendance at the weekly luncheon meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club yesterday. The president, Mr. W. E. Lewisham, presided. The address for the day was given by Sir Alfred Zimmern, professor of international relations at Oxford University, and a delegate to the British Commonwealth Relations Conference in Australia, who spoke on "Democracy," with special reference to Now Zealand. Visitors present included: —Mr. \V. C. A. Johnston (Bournemouth, England), Mr. F. Clcarv (Shanghai), Sir Charles Norwood, Mr. S. B. Davies, Mr. J. Walmslev, Mr. F. Vickerman (Wellington), Mr. R. Jameson, Mr. I'. Scott (Christchurch), Mr. G. A. Ball, Mr. W. S. McLean (Palmerston North), Mr. It. Maddock (Gisborue).
