DIVORCE DECREE GRANTED

An ajsroeaiont to separata wliich had existed for 12 years formed the basis of an undefended divorce action heard by .Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday. Petitioner was Herbert Maurice Tweedie (Mr. R. S. Hurt) and the respondent Elizabeth Holmes Tweed io. Petitioner stated that tho parties were married in Scotland in ]91(3. Following a decision to settle in New Zealand, lie arrived in Auckland in 1921, his wife and child travelling about a year later. In the ensuing years, when they lived at Point Chevalier, Ponsonby and Heme Hay, their married life was not happy and, when he returned from a visit to Canada in October, 192(3, he found his wife had moved into lodgings. She refused Lo settle" down again with him and they had lived apart since agreeing to separate in November, 192(3. His Honor granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute on tho expiry of three months.
