He has mado great improvement in tho last two weeks, Crocus (F. J. Smith) and Noble Prince (J. McKendrick) jumped away at tho mile and a-quarter about three lengths in advance of Nervie's Last (,J. Steward), Crocus taking up the rolo of pacemaker, to reach the six furlongs in 1.56 and finish in 3.4. She gave a very smooth display and no fault can be found with her condition. INoble Princo worked in his best style, and, although, he looked to havo tho leader's measure a furlong from homo, ho could not head her. Nervie's Last mado a dash in tho straight, but could not get through. Van Derby and Parauri
Parauri (F. J. Smith) led Van Derby (P. Esplin) from tho mile and a-quarter, taking tho Taemanian horse to the six furlongs in 1.57, and they raced home together in 3.6. Ho was not bustled to run the last half in 1.9. Dick Redmond (A. T. Newdick) received a start of three seconds from Fisher (A. August) went quietly from the mile and a-half as named. Kewpie's Triumph finished clear of Bedford, with Nelson Pearl several lengths back, in 3.58, the last half in 1.13 3-5. When he reached the post Kewpio's Triumph slackened and Bedford was not under a hard drive. Nelson Pearl, a three-year-old by Nelson Tasker—Black Pearl, shaped pleasingly.

Smith) after going two furlongs in 41s, was picked up by Cloverdalo (J. Heseltine) but the latter tangled on the turn. Swordsman, trotting solidly, had a good margin at the end in 3.51, the last half taking 1.14. lie is a little robust. Cloverdalo was disappointing, breaking on the bends. With Smith behind him he \yas sent another half, but took 1.18. Singing Bird (T. Hoe) and Trojan Star (T. Murphy) were together throughout a mile and a-quarter, the last half in 1.18, being the fastest section. Singing Bird maintained a solid gait. Trojan Star, a half-sister to Manna's Son, paced smoothly. Equipoise (S. M. August) took 2.40 to reach the mile, but completed the mile and a-half in 3.49 3-5, going last for the last furlong and a-half. Stalky (T. Roe), Mute (T. Murphy) and Pirate's Last (J. Fernbrook Lass Fit Kewpie's Bingen (L. Laver) led Fernbrook Lass (C. M. Morrison) from the mile and a-quarter, the latter winning easily in 3.5. She has made good progress. Kewpie's Bingen looks in fine racing condition, and will be driven by L. Laver on Saturday. From a standing start, Mandalay (D. 0. Jones) ran a milo in 2.30 2-5, the last half in 1.13 2-5. She may require a race or two to attune her. Post Haste (L. J. Mahoney) was not hurried in the early part of a mile and a-quarter, but ran the final section in 1.14. He went much better than on Saturday. Gav Moko (L. J. Malioney) led Bingen Sun (W. Head), Gold Kip (C. M. Morrison), Barba Bepo (H. A. Avcrill) and Great Surprise (L. Laver) from the milo and a-half, with four seconds between tbo first and last horses. Barba Bepo broke early and dropped back, and Gay Moko was just ahead of Great Surprise at the mile in 2.38. Tommy McElwyn, an indifferent track horse, took 3.8. He will be driven on Saturday by L. J. Mahoney. Elliotvalo (I. R. Morrison) trotted the last mile of two in 2.40, making no mistakes. Bismuth (A. McGarrv) who was unhoppled, accomplished a similar task. Kewpio's Queen (W. Geo) and Gipsy Light (G. Cole) left tho mile and aquarter two seconds ahead of Kewpio's Crest (J. Gee) with Lucky Love (W. Willetts) going five later, but at tho end of seven furlongs tho lastnamed was handy, Kewpio's Queen going on to win narrowly in 3.7 2-5.
