PLENTIFUL RAIN
RELIEF IN SYDNEY SYDNEY, August 22 Steady rnin has fallen throughout tho week-end and is continuing. The registration on the Sydney catchment area is tho highest since April, 1935. As reported last week, the water supply was becoming so low that it was causing anxiety in official quarters. The shortage was due to the rainfall having been less than the average in the past 18 months. Severe restrictions were imposed, precluding the use of hoses for any purpose except tho suppression of fire.
