AUCKLAND WEST national party interests THREE NOMINATIONS RECEIVED It was officially announced last night that three nominations have been received, /or the National Party candidate to contest the Auckland West seat against the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, at the coming general election. In addition to Mr. H. M. Bagnall and Mr. E. D. Stallworthy, Mr. G. V. Mullenger has been nominated. The three nominations have been confirmed by the committee of the party branch. Arrangements have still to be made for the selection ballot.
WELLINGTON SOUTH SEAT THE NATIONAL CANDIDATE [BY TELEGEAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday It is announced that Mr. D. P. Howlett. of the headquarters staff of the National Party, has been selected as the National candidate for Wellington South. He is aged 44 years and served throughout the war with tho Ist Canterbury Infantry. He was six times wounded, thrice at Gallipoli and thrice in France. Ho was awarded the Military Medal at the Sommo in 1916 and given a commission in the field. Mr. Howlett spent his school days at Dargaville and Helensville. The Wellington South seat is at present held by Mr. R. McKeen (Labour).
