Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north to west winds, reaching gale force in places seas rough. The weather is likelv to be unsettled in districts'with a. westerly aspect and in the ranges, with rain at times. Soma heavy fall* probable on the west coast' of the South Island. -Mainly fair east of the ranges but some scattered rains later from Canterbury southward. Temperatures' mild.

SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST ' MAINLY FAIR AND- .MILD The Government meteorologist issued to the Hekai.u last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province:—Light to moderate but gradually freshening north-westerly winds. The morning was calm, but a fresh north-east breeze blew in the afternoon, l'he maximum temperature was 55.4 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.95 in. at'o p.m. Dunedin.—There was bright sunshine to-day and a slight breeze from the north-east.
