Inspector Jones said that on Faster Monday defendant overtook him at Brown's Road, Manurewa. Defendant overtook several vehicles and passed them on Wiri Bridge, which was only 18ft. wide. Traffic was dense at the time and defendant could not pet into line. His speed was from 45 to 50 miles an hour and up to 55 at Papatoctoe school.
