Brady, draper, and Mr. E. D. MeLeay, boot and shoe dealer, during tho week-end, and removed a quantity of goods and a small amount of cash. WheivMr. Brady opened his shop this morning he found materials strewn about the floor. The men's department had received most attention. Behind the main counter a pair of old trousers were found, an intruder evidently having discarded them for a new pair. Bugs, overcoats, shirts, hats and ties had been stolen. Entrance had been effected through a smashed window pane at the rear of tho showroom. Papers and Books Thrown About Mr. MeLeay made his discovery when lie returned to the shop at eight o'clock on Saturday evening. Entering the workshop at the back of the premises, ho found that entrance had been made through a broken pane of glass of the window in the office. He found a state of chaos. The contents of a row of pigeon holes were scattered on the floor. The door of an office desk was broken, and papers and books were on the floor, while ink was splashed about. The safe was not interfered with. A dozen coppers were taken from the till and lis from thf office. The only stock missing were three pairs of shoes. Three Accused Remanded Three young men were charged at the Police Court this afternoon with the theft of goods and money of a total of £72 16s lid. They were Arthur Lawrence Mudgway, Tabourcr, of Waihi, who was charged with entering the premises of Peter Gillies Brady and stealing goods valued at £6B, and John James Kelly, aged 22, labourer, and Aylmer Luddenham, aged 28, seaman, who were jointly charged with the theft of goods and money of a value of £4 9s 6d from the shop of Eric Daniel MeLeay. . Kelly and Luddenham were arrested on Sundav evening, and Mudgway this morning. * All three were remanded in custody.
